Description: This lesson study investigates how introducing chemistry through diverse global examples on the first day of General Chemistry can help students recognize chemistry as a collaborative, human endeavor rather than a series of discoveries by isolated individuals. By engaging with culturally grounded case studies and discussion, students develop foundational chemistry understanding while expanding their ideas about who does science and how scientific knowledge is created.
