About
Martha Byrne is an associate professor of mathematics and math education at Sonoma State University. She earned her B.A. in mathematics at Knox College, and her M.S. and PhD at the University of New Mexico. Academically, she lives in the intersection of pure mathematics and math education. She is passionate about working with future teachers, and her primary areas of research are equity in undergraduate math education, and the teaching and learning of mathematical proof.
